To celebrate Mothers Day 2012 we’re rewarding 12 marvellous mums with a special gift. We’ve got:

The store was looking fabulous and each and every member of staff was looking super smart in their black suits and shining name badges, ready to meet Prince Charles. The day was absolutely amazing, we were all so pleased with how it went and everyone has commented on how absolutely lovely the Prince was, making us all feel comfortable and saying such lovely things about us in his speech.

Prince Charles entered Palmers on 27/02/12. He walked all around the ground floor, met many members of staff in their departments and saw demonstrations from our beauty teams. Then he came upstairs to listen to a little Palmers history lesson by our very knowledgeable local historian, Michael Boon. Afterwards he walked through to our coffee room where he inspected (with hungry eyes!) our 175th celebration cake and met Kirsty, who makes all our cakes in store.

Finally, he came up onto our temporary stage, where we presented him with his own royal celebration cake and asked him to unveil our commemorative plaque. He then made a really complimentary speech, commending family business and all that we have been through.

The celebrations carried on after Prince Charles left with the first of our Palmers tea dances which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who took part. We had a wonderful day and could not be happier with how it turned out. We would like to send a massive thank you to Prince Charles for making the day so special and let him know he is welcome to come back any time – perhaps he’ll pop by next time he is staying in Sandringham – maybe he’ll bring his mum!

The last show was on the 24th of November at the Furzdown Hotel in Great Yarmouth. It was a charity event and was a great success – we sold 90 tickets and raised £600 for the Wellbeing of Women.
